Clarinda, Ia. (2010-06-11) The million dollar museum showcasing Glenn Miller's Legacy is now officially open in Clarinda Iowa.

Officials there opened the new "Glenn Miller Birthplace Museum" yesterday afternoon.... The kick-off to the 35th year of the Glenn Miller Festival.

The complex is next to the house where the famous big-band leader was born... and includes a bandstand display, photographs, and collections and archives rooms.

The museum opening is just one of dozens of concerts and lectures on the big-band era taking place in Clarinda this weekend.

Bands from as far away as Japan and Switzerland will be performing through Sunday.
