Disaster Aid Left

Wayman

MARYVILLE, MO (2010-06-03) Millions of dollars are available for North Missourians... but the deadline to claim it is approaching.

In 2008 the region was hit with floods, ice, hail, severe thunderstorms, and even tornadoes.

A Federal project sent money to Missouri to help them deal with the damage.

Ten million dollars is still available for Missouri residents.

Sheila McCartney is a Social Services Block Grant case work supervisor in Kirksville.

She says because the program is not based on income, anyone is eligible to apply for funds to make repairs on their home.

The deadline to qualify for the aid is still a few months off- it's September 30th.

You can contact the Department of Health and Senior Services to apply.
