St. Joseph, MO (2010-06-17) There will be a lot of toe tapping this weekend in downtown St. Joseph.

The Coleman Hawkins Jazz Festival opens tomorrow night at Coleman Hawkins park- that's at 7th and Felix streets.

Williams-Carpentieri (carpen-terry) says the event honors the hometown legend.
Tomorrow night's concert starts at 6 o-clock. The smokey sounds of Kansas City vocalist Angela Hagenbach (hog-in-bock) start at 8.
On Saturday the band strikes up at 1 o-clock.... with St. Joseph's own Kathleen Holeman taking the bandstand at 3.
