Chillicothe, MO (2010-06-11) There may be light at the end of the tunnel for Chillicothe area residents still effected by the water outage.
The Grand River has been going down the past couple of days since cresting at nearly 36 feet.
Flood stage is at 24 feet but is expected to drop below that today.
That will allow crews to access the two water lines broken in last weekend's flooding rains.
Meanwhile, the boil order does remain in effect for about 5 thousand residents.
These include customers of Livingston County Public Water Supply District Number 3 and the Dawn Water District Number 1... which also serves Utica and Ludlow.
Besides the boil order, residents in these water districts are being asked to conserve their water usage.
Bottled water is still available-- distribution points can be found by contacting your water district.
