Caldwell Audit

Kingston, MO (2010-06-23) The Public Water Supply District #1 of Caldwell County recently underwent a state audit.

The audit found the district budget was not in compliance with Missouri state law.
The budget did not include a budget message, actual receipts and disbursements for the past two budget years and did not obtain an annual audit for the 2008 year.
The district also assessed a five dollar monthly surcharge to customers in the City of Cowgill. The surcharge is under dispute, the charge may be illegal under state law.
