Atchison County, Mo. (2010-06-02) Results are out from the state audit of Atchison Country, Missouri.
Findings show the Atchison County Sheriff's department is the main item of concern.
Auditors say money collected at the Sheriff's Department is collected almost every day, yet deposits are made just two or three times a month.
Last year the Department collected nearly $138,000 in paper service fees, bonds, reports, telephone commissions and other money.
The state auditor recommends the money be deposited in a more timely manner.
