St. Joseph, MO (2009-06-30) Last night's St. Joseph City Council meeting brings a "yes" vote for restoring downtown.
The St. Joseph City Council voted 5 to 1 to create a Tax Increment Finance District- or "TIF".
Council woman Barbara Labass was the lone "no" vote.
The Mayor and 2 council members- Roger Baker and Bill Falkner- all abstained.
The "TIF" district will allow property owners to
re-develop an area surrounding the city's downtown area, including new businesses and entertainment in the St. Joseph core.
