MARYVILLE, MO (2009-06-15) If your phone service isn't working today, you're not alone.
KXCV News has learned there's a 6-county service outage through Northwest Missouri.
Emergency officials confirm information from the Embarq Telephone Company saying a fiber optic cable has been cut.
That's effecting service in Andrew, Holt, Daviess, Atchison, Gentry, and Nodaway counties.
It's also effecting not just Embarq customers, but those of Bell, A-T-and-T, and T-Mobile.
It is effecting 9-1-1 operations as well as residential, business, and even cell phone service.
Officials say the problem is being worked on but it's unknown when the phone service will return.
