Jefferson City, MO (2009-06-26) Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has signed the state budget into law- minus 105 million dollars cut out.
He also froze 325 million from being spent.
Most of the cuts come from a capital improvement projects bill.
They include cutting nearly 25 million out of a statewide radio system for emergency responders, which will now make due with only 87 million.
Nixon says the State simply has to tighten its belt.
The cuts also include more than 12 and a half million in cuts for ethanol funding and 10 million for a highway project in Jefferson City.
Revenues have continued to decline.
In the last 2 months the State has dropped from a negative 2-point-5 percent revenue intake down to nearly 6 percent negative.
