Missing Woman

Mt. Ayr, Ia. (2009-06-29) Southwest Iowa authorities are looking for a missing elderly woman.

Ringgold County Sheriff Mike Sobotka (suh-bot-kuh) tells us his officers resumed their search at 6 this morning for 71 year old Shirley Martin of rural Mount Ayr (air).

Martin was last seen yesterday afternoon after leaving the Ringgold County Fairgrounds about 4-45 in the afternoon.

Her family called and reported her missing just before 8 last night.

The Sheriff says Shirley Martin suffers from Dementia, and it's likely she doesn't know where she is.

The public is encouraged to keep an eye out for her- again, she's 71 years old and dissapeared driving a blue Chevrolet S-10 extended cab pickup.

It has Iowa license plates on it- the number is 1 3 6- P P 0.

Anyone that can help in the search is asked to call their local law enforcement.
