Lager Oversight

Wayman

Savannah, MO (2009-06-18) A Northwest Missouri Senator will be among a handfull responsible for providing oversight on how Federal Stimulus money will be spent.

Savannah's Brad Lager (log-er) will serve on the state's "Joint Interim Committee on Oversight of Federal Stimulus and Stabilization Funds".

Missouri is getting millions of dollars by the federal government to try and stimulate the economy.

Lager calls the amount coming in "unprecedented"…. and says the biggest challenge is not obligating Missouri taxpayers to pay for ongoing programs once the federal money stops.

In many cases, the money also has numerous stipulations as to how the money can be spent.
