Marceline, MO (2009-06-29) Amid the dealerships in our region loosing their designation by General Motors, one has good results from its massive lobbying effort.
Cupp Chevrolet in Marceline launched a letter-writing campaign and even held a special weekend to rally their customers to show local support.
It turns out the efforts were noticed in Detroit and General Motors has decided to renew their franchise contract.
The dealership even used the local Walsworth Publishing to produce an eye-catching publication to tell their story to G-M… which, it turns out, calls the Marceline company the "Disney Dealership", referring to the hometown of Walt Disney.
They say they received more than 3 thousand letters of support, which helped save the G-M relationship.
