St. Joseph, MO (2009-06-19) It's official: the State of Missouri has given final approval to bring the summer training camp of the Kansas City Chiefs to St. Joseph.
In an agreement announced yesterday afternoon, Governor Nixon says the Missouri Development Finance Board approved today a tax credit stipulation within the agreement to move the camp to the campus of Missouri Western.
This means pending local funds to construct facilities, the summer camp will be used by the players 3 weeks every summer beginning next year.
Missouri Western Board of Governors have opened 14 bids for the practice facility and a decision is expected to be reached soon.
Construction is expected to begin around July first.
