Chillicothe, MO (2009-06-10) The old Chillicothe Correctional Center has a new owner.

The facility is now property of the city.
Governor Nixon finalized the transfer of property yesterday afternoon.
In 2008, the Department of Corrections opened the doors to the new Chillicothe Correctional Center within city limits.
The new facility can house more than 16-hundred female offenders.
