Tax Revenue Increase

Maryville city officials are pleased with an increase in revenue they are seeing from sales tax this year.

The city is experiencing an eight percent increase over what was taken in at this time last year..Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel says the excess revenue will be added to the 'over and above' revenue account and will be used for several different programs next year. McDanel says the increase can be attributed to an increase in construction in the area.

McDanel says he expects construction will continue through the fall.
