MARYVILLE, MO (2012-07-11)
Area growers are being encouraged to check their fields after a pest emerges in northwest Missouri fields.
Spider mites have reportedly infiltrated soybean fields near Maryville according to Holt County M-U Extension Agronomist Wayne Flannery. Flannery says when scouting soybean fields for traces of the mites, look for an off color area turning yellow or brown. Flannery adds when checking bring a white sheet of paper to get a closer look at speckles infected plants may possess.
Flannery says spider mites have been reported just west of Maryville and another report has been confirmed in Maitland.© Copyright, KXCV
