ST. JOSEPH, MO (2012-07-13)
On July 2nd, there was a failure to the first cell of the Rosecrans Lagoon in St. Joseph.
Emergency actions were taken to ensure the environmental impacts of the failure were minimized. Assistant Director of Public Works for St. Joseph, Andrew Clements says clean up is the first concern.
Clements says the failure did not contaminate or cause any problems to the base property. The lagoons are currently inactive while the cleaning and inspections are taking place. Officials from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment have been contacted and are monitoring the situation.© Copyright, KXCV
