Hamburg, Iowa is garnering national attention for a unique way they hope to pay for the cost of a levee constructed last year to save the community from the flooding of the Missouri River.
Hamburg Mayor Cathy Crane says the community is faced with a huge bill from the federal government.
After much discussion it was decided to post a you-tube video explaining Hamburg's situation with flash mob dancing on the city's street's to revised lyrics of "Proud Mary". The you-tube video and the website hamburg levee dot com has been on the internet for just over seven days and Crane says the community has already received 20 thousand dollars from people donating to their cause. Crane says the national media has picked up on their story giving the video and website valuable exposure.Again, anyone wishing to view the youtube video can go to their website...www.hamburglevee.com.© Copyright, KXCV
