Northwest Missouri (2012-07-05)
Even though yesterday was the Fourth of July, Missouri Highway Patrol troopers will continue to saturate the roads and interstates in Northwest Missouri.
Missouri Highway Patrol Troop H based in St. Joseph is taking part in the 20-Mile Trooper project which began Tuesday night and runs through Sunday evening. The project is an initiative to reduce fatalitities on interstates and designated highways in Missouri. Spokesperson for the St. Joseph office...Sergeant Sheldon Lyon...says there are some basic things motorists can do to be safe this week.
Lyon says the designated highways for the program in Troop H are Interstate 35 and U-S Highways 36, 65, 71 and 169. The focus of the program is traffic violations, with an emphasis on impaired driving.© Copyright, KXCV
