NORTH CENTRAL MISSOURI, MO (2012-07-06)
A north central Missouri manhunt is finally over.
Both inmates who escaped the Livingston County jail Wednesday night have been caught. Officers from several agencies continued with the hunt for the escaped fugitive Bobby R. Waddle. Early Thursday evening, authorities located and arrested Waddle in the City of Brookfield. Linn County Sheriff’s Office returned Waddle to the Livingston County Jail where he will be held as a maximum security prisoner. Sheriff Steve Cox says Tony Dawson and Bobby Ray Waddle, both of Brookfield, were able to partially force open a security door. That door was serviced in April for not opening and closing completely, but was believed to be in working order since. This is the first escape since May 1993, when that same door was mistakenly left open. Dawson was caught Wednesday morning by authorities and the Livingston County prosecutor is currently considering charges of First Degree Burglary and Escape From Custody against him. Additional investigation continues regarding other people who may have helped one or both of the detainees who escaped from confinement. Cox says they anticipate obtaining additional arrest warrants on Tony Dawson and Bobby Waddle as early as today.
