With the drought persisting and showing no signs of slowing, farmers are being forced to assess the value of their crops after the decimated growing season.

With soybean plants not producing bean crops, farmers low on cow feed are looking to bale the crops. Missouri Extension Agronomist Specialist, Wayne Flanary, is advising farmers not to do so.

Flanary says as the drought continues to damage crops and pastures, some of it may still be used. For instance, damaged corn can be used as a feed for livestock or as corn silage.Flanery says there is still no insight yet as to when this drought will come to an end, but the effects will be long lasting.
