NORTHWEST MISSOURI (2012-07-31)
Ash Trees in northwest Missouri may be threatened by an insect which has been responsible for the death of over 50 million U-S ash trees in the past ten years.
The Emerald Ash Borer's population has been expanding in southern Missouri and the first report of the insect in northwest Missouri was made last week in Platte County. Holt County Conservation Agent, Anthony Maupin says the insect often is transported to a new area through firewood.
