The 4th of July is day off work for many people.

It may be a time to get together with family and friends for barbeques and fireworks. This day marks the birth of our nation and for speaker, Shawn Harper, it's a day to reflect on what makes this country great.

Shawn Harper has been asked to deliver his thoughts on Independence Day to the St. Joseph Rotary Club. To recognize the day, we'll start this hour of Rhythm N Roots with a tribute to the American Flag. This song was written and performed by Maryville resident, Julia Prokes..."Grandmother's Flag."
