A junior at Northwest Missouri State University is one of less than 30 musicians nationwide chosen to perform at next month's National Flute Association Convention.

Christine Chesney from Smithville submitted a recording to the group and was chosen for the honor. Chesney says music has been part of her life since she was a child, and says her winning application embodies the emotions that music means to her.

Chesney's National Convention Performance will start August 11th in North Carolina. You can hear more from Chesney and her award-winning performance during our morning conversation, that's at 11:06 this morning.
