Just when breached levees and flooded buildings sounded bad, another plague could easily hit flood-ravaged parts of our listening area.
Standing, stagnant flood water and the hot summer months bring mosquitoes, and some of the first reports of the biting bugs are testing positive for West Nile. St. Louis County Department of Health, Dr. Faisal Khan recommends that flood victims and the general public take steps to help prevent the breeding of mosquitoes and protect themselves from bites.
Khan goes on to say.Khan adds wearing long sleeves, light colored clothes and the use of mosquito repellent are all ways to help protect yourself from the dangerous bugs.© Copyright, KXCV
