This week, the Trenton City Council approved several ordinances regarding cats in that community.

Trenton City clerk Cindy Simpson says the new ordinances will make owners take the same steps with cats as they do with dogs such as getting them licensed.

Simpson adds those caught feeding stray cats will be fined up to $500.
