MARYVILLE, MO (2011-07-15)
Maryville Representative Mike Thomson says the State House's interim committee on disasters in the state picked up some good ideas from seeing the northwest Missouri flooding firsthand.
Thomson is one of 12 lawmakers serving on the committee, which is touring Missouri and trying to discover ways the state can be more responsive to disasters like the flooding or the Joplin Tornado. He says funding red tape is becoming a focus.
The group will visit St. Louis next week, then present a report on disaster funding suggestions to the house speaker at the end of this month. A full report will be given to the general assembly in January.© Copyright, KXCV
