As the excessive heat warning continues for our listening area so do concerns for livestock suffering from the heat.
With the severe weather, livestock are just as susceptible to the heat and overheating as humans. University of Missouri Extension livestock specialist Jim Humphrey says some warning signs of heat stress in livestock are excessive panting and foaming of the mouth. Humphrey adds in extreme cases some livestock might get down and not be able to get back up.
