With temperatures rising outside KCP&L wants to make sure their customers stay safe.
KCP&L volunteers have been donating fans to community agencies throughout their coverage area. Senior manager of KCP&L public affairs Elizabeth Danforth says "The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority during extreme weather and there are several easy steps customers can take to stay cool." Those include closing drapes and blinds in windows to block the sun from shining in and heating up the room. Also opening doors to unused rooms throughout your home to allow the cool air to circulate and for better efficiency from your air conditioning unit. For more cooling tips or ways to save energy during the heat wave contact KCP&L Customer Care Center at 888-471-5275.
