Missouri farmers may soon find their produce on more plates in schools, hospitals, and prisons.
Governor Nixon created the "Farm to Table" advisory board last week. Bethany representative Casey Guernsey sponsored the bill in the house. He says the current movement that advocates locally grown produce is a great opportunity for rural communities.
The advisory board is made up of representatives from the extension agency as well as multiple state agencies. The board will present its findings on market opportunities to the general assembly.© Copyright, KXCV
