As the temperatures reach the upper 90's and with heat index's hitting 110 those who are forced to be out in the sun need to learn how to beat the heat.

While some can try and avoid the heat wave others are working in the severe conditions all day. Tri County Health Department Nurse Lilly Parsons says there are some important things to keep in mind if you are out in the heat.

Parsons says some people don't realize they are suffering from heat exhaustion until its almost too late.Parsons adds be sure to be aware of heat symptoms.
