YWCA Program Cuts

St. Joseph, MO (2010-07-06) State budget cuts have killed an 18-year program at St. Joseph's Y-W-C-A.

About 5 staffers will lose their jobs and the program responsible for training and teaching child care providers based at the Y-W-C-A in St. Joseph is being moved.

Y-W-C-A Executive Director Jean Brown says the budget cuts will move that program out of Northwest Missouri to a Kansas City office.

Families or businesses involved with the "Missouri Child Care Resource and Referral Network" in St. Joseph can call the Y-W-C-A to find out the next step in accessing the services through Kansas City.
