Worth Co Audit

Wayman

Grant City, MO (2010-07-21) State Auditors say there are several areas Worth County government could improve.

Results of the recent investigation show the County pays 43 thousand dollars to the Worth County Progress Organization, but there's nothing to show services provided in return.

Auditors say fuel usage by the County's Road and Bridge department aren't adequately documented.... timesheets aren't always checked by supervisors and there are several discrepancies with vacation and sick leave accruals.

They say the Worth County Clerk's recordings of county property are missing necessary information, and record keeping of money received in the Prosecuting Attorney's office is weak.

The same goes for the Circuit Clerk's records- Auditors say there's even nearly 3 thousand dollars that can't be identified for specific use.
