Toddler Farm Accident

Hale, MO (2010-07-26) A three year old is changed for life in Livingston County in another reminder of how farming is one of the most dangerous professions.

The Sheriff's department there says the boy- from Roachport-was visiting his grandparents farm on County Road 373 near Hale.

Investigators say the three year olds' leg got caught in an auger and was amputated below the knee.

After being taken to Hedrick Medical Center, they few him to Children's Mercy in Kansas City for treatment in intensive care.

Authorities are not releasing his or his grandparent's names.
