St. Joseph, MO (2010-07-16) Low income residents of St. Joseph are getting nearly 2 and a half million dollars to improve conditions.
The federal dollars come from the Housing and Urban Development office.
More than one-point-8 million will be in the form of Community Development Block grants to help with affordable housing projects for low to moderate income families in St. Joseph.
The "Home Investment Partnership" program will send 485 thousand dollars earmarked for low-income residents.
Those will be used to build, buy, or rehabilitate affordable housing or to help with rents.
The money is part of nearly 23 million the State of Missouri is getting for such programs.
