Trenton, MO (2010-07-26) The Grundy County Musuem has been selected as one of the few rural community musuems who will host a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution.
The "New Harmonies"exhibit explores the many different cultural identities of American Roots Music forms.
It includes a selection of photographs, instruments, lyrics, and artist profiles that will display the progression of American Roots Music.
Tad Trombly is local co-chair of the "New Harmonies" exhibit for the Grundy County Museum and believes it will have broad appeal.
The exhibit opens August 7th and will remain in Grundy County until September 18th. The hours will be each Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm until 5 in the evening.
In November the Roots exhibit comes to the Nodaway Historical Society's Museum in Maryville.
UIt's on exhibit from November 13th through Christmas... with programs on roots music scheduled starting in September.
