Savannah, MO (2010-07-01) The Savannah City Council plans on sending a letter of opposition to a proposed 10 thousand head hog farm being planned near town.
At the recent City Council meeting a number of citizens spoke in opposition to the plan.
One of the Savannah City Council members even suggested starting a petition.
After the public comments Council Woman Connie George made the motion to send a letter in opposition from the City to the State Department of Natural Resources.
That motion passed and the city attorney is being consulted on the best approach for an opposition letter on behalf of the City of Savannah.
Also at the meeting members got an update on the West Main and 6th Street improvements.
That intersection should be closed through the first of next month as crews re-construct the area.
