ST. JOSEPH, MO. (2010-7-27) The St. Joseph City Council spends money on a museum in town, then discusses way to increase tourism in the downtown area.
At last night's city council meeting members approved the plan to spend about $23,000 for roof repairs at the National Military Museum. They also brainstormed how to get more people to visit downtown St. Joseph. Among the suggestions were moving Terrible's Casino into downtown or expanding St. Joseph's Civic Arena. No action was taken on the ideas. The City is also considering opening up garage sales August 13th through the 15th and waiving the permit fee.
