Trenton, MO (2010-07-09) You've seen the highway signs warning you to give construction workers a break.
A near-fatal accident near Trenton is the reason why.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says Bob Porter from Mercer Missouri was approaching a work zone about 3 miles north of Trenton on Highway 65 when he failed to stop at the stop sign held by 22 year old Daniel Garrett of Eldon Iowa.
Investigators say Porter ran into the flagman, seriously injuring him.
Garrett was life-flighted to St. Lukes Hospital for emergency treatment.
