MARYVILLE, MO (2010-07-29) Celebrating art and experiencing it too.
That's the purpose of a concert tonight in Maryville marking the completion of 4 public murals in the city. Since 2004 the Maryville citizens for community action has raised the funds and coordinated the 4 murals. The last one to be finished was painted by Bob Walkenhorst who is also a musician. So Maryville chamber director Luke Reven says they're holding the dedication this evening with a public folk rock concert afterwards. The Maryville murals project dedication starts at 6 tonight at the last mural completed, that's on the Maryville Florist's building at 214 North main in Maryville's downtown district. The folk rock concert starts about 6:30 tonight as part of Maryville's "Downtown Sounds" summer concert series.
