Mound City , MO (2010-07-12) A Mound City Police S-U-V crashes last night on the way to a call, seriously injuring the officer inside and totaling another vehicle.

Investigators say neither he nor the other victim was wearing seat belts.

The Highway Patrol says Jon Mullen of Forest City was driving the Oregon Police Department's S-U-V with emergency equipment activated on Highway one-eleven.

They say he passed another S-U-V on the road driven by Jean Williams of Oregon as she was making a left turn onto another road.

Mullen's police cruiser slammed into the driver's side of William's vehicle.

Mullen was seriously injured and was flown to Heartland Regional by Life-Net.

Williams was taken to Heartland with moderate injuries.

Both the police cruiser and William's S-U-V were totaled.
