Mo Meat Inspections

Wayman

Jefferson City, MO (2010-07-06) The Missouri Farm Bureau is warning another Federal plan could have dire results for the state's meat processors.

The concern arises from the preliminary draft guidance plan by the Food and Safety and Inspection Service.

The Farm Bureau claims the proposals would increase regulatory costs to small and independent meat processors- putting them in serious economic risk.

Missouri Farm Bureau President Charlie Kruse says the plan goes against what federal regulators are promoting.

The F-S-I-S proposal must still be adopted by federal regulators before being put into effect.
