MARYVILLE, MO (2010-07-12) A major construction project gets underway in and around Maryville starting today... that will create traffic issues for the next two weeks, if the weather holds.
Mo-Dot today begins work on Highway 46.
They'll start with a box culvert in Maryville between Dunn and Walnut streets.
Highway 46 running through town at that point is being taken down to one lane 24 hours a day for the rest of this week.
Then starting a week from today, more than 2 miles of asphalt re-surfacing will begin.
That will run on Highway 46 from the Maryville Country Club on the west edge of the city to Depot Street on the east edge of Maryville.
Mo-Dot Engineer Marty Lyons says Highway 46 will be one lane.... and closures of side streets along that route will also close down now and then as the re-surfacing works its way through town.
Flaggers will direct traffic and the work will take about two weeks to complete.
