St. Joseph, MO (2010-07-02) It's a long holiday weekend for many, and the Missouri Highway Patrol will be out in force to make sure it's a safe one.
Operation "Care" will be in place- that stands for "Combined Accident Reduction Effort".
Sergeant Sheldon Lyons with the Highway Patrol Headquarters in St. Joseph says the holiday can be more dangerous on the road.
Last year 484 people were injured in fourth of July crashes in Missouri.
