Brunswick, MO (2010-07-08) The State of Missouri plans on targeting federal funds to get the Highway 24 bridge near Brunswick back on line.
The bridge spanning the Grand River in Livingston County was damaged after flooding had eroded soil supporting the bridge's pilings. (pile-ings).
Now, Governor Nixon has declared an emergency for the bridge, which will allow Mo-Dot to pursue federal emergency relief funds.
The bridge remains closed as Mo-Dot crews work to repair the flood damage.
They're hoping to have one of its lanes back open by the middle of next month... with the bridge completely restored by October first.
