Northwest, MO (2009-07-08) It's been more than 6 years in the making, but next week a new group meets to chart the future of water usage in a 12 county area of northwest missouri.
The Great Northwest Wholesale Water Commission will officially form with its first meeting next Thursday.
The group is formed of local government representatives, regional planners, and other volunteers.
After 6 years of planning they'll be moving forward with building a grid of water supply lines across Northwest Missouri.
Organizers say aging infrastructure and even entire communities in our region without proper water supply are driving the massive project.
The leaders will meet at 2 next Thursday at the Clasby Center in Savannah.
