Jefferson City, MO (2009 -07-20) Are you going to drive or are you going to text?

Now, drivers in Missouri can't do both.

A new law banning text messaging while driving was just signed by Missouri's Governor.

It says anyone under 21 found texting can be ticketed…. If they're stopped for another moving violation.

Representative Jeff Roorda worked on the crime bill and says the new violation makes sense.

Roorda says the anti-texting provision sparked more interest among his constituents than any other portion of the Missouri Crime Bill.
