Cameron, MO (2009-07-14) The St. Joseph company at the center of an investigation involving brain tumors is back in court today.
Federal investigators are looking into the actions of National Leathers/Prime Tanning in St. Joseph, which has been distributing factory by-products around Northern Missouri as an agricultural fertilizer.
That sludge is suspected by some to be causing a rash of brain tumors around the Cameron area, although no direct link has been proven.
Earlier a judge issued a temporary restraining order against the tannery from destroying documents related to the legal action.
A hearing on that action is being heard today.
The St. Joseph company has numerous lawsuits filed against it, alleging both personal injury and wrongful death.
