Savannah Flooding Problems

Savannah, MO (2009-07-13) The City of Savannah has too much water on its hands.

At a recent City Council meeting members heard a report from a representative of the Andrew County Lake Club.

He recapped the history of flooding problems at the Lake Club and pointed out new construction near the facility could cause even more damage.

Three manholes along the Lake near the east side of the road were also recently under water.

Council members heard a suggestion of a water detention area be made near Sonic along Highway E to Cedar Street.

The City will check with engineers on the problem.
