King City, MO (2009-07-13) A milestone is reached in Missouri's Bridge Rehabilitation Program--and it happens in our region.
The recent reopening of a small bridge north of King City in Gentry County has marked the completion of the 50th bridge project under Mo-Dot's Safe and Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
The program was created to improve 802 of the state's poorest bridges over the next five years.
The first job was completed April 23rd and since then Mo-Dot has completed and reopened a new bridge every day-and-a-half.
Thirty bridges are currently under construction and four more projects are set to begin today.
